Senior ring, sword & saber ceremony Sunday, October 5

Whether you have a senior cadet or not, this ceremony is a sight to see!!  In fact, go check out some pictures from last year's ceremony at SJNMA SmugMug

Overall, the ceremony is to recognize the senior cadets.  All swords, sabers, rings, and honors are presented by someone of the cadets' choosing.  So regardless of what they will or will not receive, EVERY senior comes forward with a presenter or representative.  It is the cadet's responsibility to inform their designated presenter or representative of date, time, location, etc.  This ceremony will be held on Sunday, October 5th at noon Farrand Hall Gymnasium.

If for some reason a parent is concerned whether or not their son ordered a ring, parents can contact Andrea Sharp at the Cadet store at 262-646-7133.  That's where the rings are ordered through.

Swords and sabers are presented to any cadet in certain leadership positions (Cadet First Sergeants, Cadet Company Commanders, 131 Corps Top 7 leadership).  No senior new boys will be presented with swords or sabers as they would have had to have gone to cadre prior to the beginning of the school year and hold a specific leadership position.  Any and all senior cadets are able to order a senior ring though.  While the returning seniors were given the opportunity to order their rings last spring, all new boys were provided with the information to order one when they enrolled this fall.

Some of them have placed that order already.  If their ring arrives in time they will presented with it at the ceremony.  If they ordered it late and it will not be here in time for this weekend we have several "loaner" rings that can be used for the ceremony.  They will then be given their actual ring when we receive it.

In addition, Cadet First Sergeants will also receive their stetson (aka "smokey the bear hat") and take their oath.

Feel free to send an email to parentsclub@sjnma.org if you have any questions about the senior ring, sword, and saber ceremony.
