Open vs. Closed Weekends - What does that mean?
Many of you that are new to SJNMA probably notice on our calendar OPEN vs CLOSED Weekends throughout the year. CLOSED weekends are those where something is scheduled and all cadets must remain on campus for the activity - such as a parade, Corps inspections, etc. For OPEN Weekends, following the initial 30 days on campus, Cadets in good standing (which can be verified through your cadets' RFO via email) may leave for the weekend after their last event (class or sporting event, ceremony etc.) on Friday returning by 6:00 pm on Sunday. A leave request form must be submitted by the Wednesday prior to the designated open weekend in order to obtain approval. These request forms are located on RENWEB - in the WEBFORMS section. Simply complete the form on line, look for "SAVE" button (a bit hidden down to the left of the parents email address line) and the request is submitted. As long as you push the "SAVE" button your request is submitted. You will NOT receive an acknowledgement unless the leave is not approved. Next Open Weekends are September 13 - 15 and September 27-29. For more information you can contact your Cadets' RFO or refer to the Parents Handbook on Renweb. DF
