Phonathon! What is it and what can I do to help?

This evening kicked off the first of nine nights over the next three weeks that several of our current cadets call families, alumni , past (and present) employees  or just about anyone who has generously donated In the past to begin raising funds for SJNMA'S "Annual Fund". This annual fundraising event since 2005 provides operational funds for the school to support academics, athletics, music programs, scholarships, general upkeep of the school, and so much more.

Cadets who make the calls are typically more tenured cadets and several newer cadets help with the administrative paperwork processing.   They all go through a training process and have a general script that they follow when making the calls.  Approx 7 cadets each Monday Tuesday and Wednesday for the next three weeks make about 300-400 calls a night.  Cadets compete against each other each night in two categories: most dollars raised and most number of donations obtained.   Yes it is the old "dialing for dollars".  Donations range anywhere from $25 to $10,000 (that was an exciting night last year when that pledge came through!). There are thousands of calls made and each and every donation makes a difference.   The boys are very competitive and keep watching the tally board that the adult helpers maintain to see who's in the lead with each call.
So when St. John's pops up on your caller ID this next couple weeks please take a few minutes and help our hard working cadets beat last years tally.   It is for a great cause and makes these cadets proud of what they have contributed to their school.   If you have any questions please send me a quick email at parentsclub@sjnma.org or contact Cindy Trione or Rachel Golla in the Developmet Office.  df
