SJNMA Charlie Company Service Learning Project

Cadets in Charlie Company are doing a service learning project for the Nike Reuse-A-Shoe Program and kindly request your help.
Charlie Company is collecting used athletic shoes that Nike will recycle into items that benefit the community. Since the early 1990s, Nike has collected more than 28 million pairs of used athletic shoes. Athletic shoe outsoles can be used in track surfaces, rubber interlocking gym flooring tiles and playground services. Athletic shoe midsoles can be used to make synthetic basketball courts and tennis courts. The upper fabric from athletic shoes can be used in authentic-surface padding and equestrian surfacing material.
Cadets are encouraged to donate used athletic shoes when they return from Christmas break. Donations will be accepted until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6Collection bins are located in each company hallway, the academic building and the gymnasium.
Charlie Company invites cadets and their families and friends to contribute to this service learning project. Only athletic shoes can be donated. Sandals, dress shoes and other non-athletic shoes cannot be used.
