A. Call to Order: At 1:25 pm Deborah Flaherty called the PC
Meeting to order, made introductory remarks and introduced the PC Board
Members.
B. General Updates/Activities/Upcoming
Events: Please refer to the
Parents Club BlogSpot at https://sjnmaparentsclub.blogspot.com
for daily updates and new information regarding PC activities and general
information. College visits and cadet activities are now available to view on
ParentsWeb. Cadets will still need sign up for cadet activities directly with
Jill Mazurek. Leave forms submitted through ParentsWeb will be approved/confirmed via emails from
the RFO’s.

October 25th will be a Halloween
movie night for the cadets and Bobbing for Apples with the RFO’s in Welles
Dining Hall.

November 8th is a scheduled Veterans
Day Ceremony honoring our Veterans at 1:00pm in the Gymnasium. Followed on
November 9th by the Veterans Day Parade in Milwaukee. All are
encouraged to attend the parade. Please watch Parents Club BlogSpot for more
details.

December 2nd Thanksgiving Leave ends
at 7:00 pm (1900). The Mess Hall will be decorated for the Holidays and in
preparation for the December 4th decorating of the Corp Christmas tree
in the Rotunda, decorating cookies and cadets writing Holiday cards to Wounded
Soldiers at Walter Reed Hospital.

December 15th will include a
Promotions and Awards Ceremony, Holiday Concert, Advent Lessons and Carols and
the Corp Christmas Party. Family and friends are invited to attend this event.
PC will be providing desserts to represent our international students and
cultural diversity of our cadets. Please email Susan Arndt at ms.susan.arndt@gmail.com or parentsclub@sjnma.org if you would like
to make a donation or help with desserts.

January will the assembling and delivering of
End of Semester packs as ordered. If you are interested in ordering an End of
Semester pack for your cadets, please email parentsclub@sjnma.org The packs are $15 each.

March 8-9th 130th Corp of
Cadets Mid-Winter Ball. This event is the cadets “prom” and the theme is
“Rockin’ the Night”. Organization and
planning are currently underway. If you
are interested in helping with the Mid- Winter Ball, please contact Lynette
Ahlgren at lahlgren@sjnma.org There will be several options for the cadets
in grades 9-12 to attend. Afternoon activities, dinner and the ball are included
in this event along with Sunday Brunch and Chapel service. Please watch the

C. Recommendations for General Membership
Vote on Parents Club

Any changes to the PC By-laws need to be voted
on by the General Membership. Minor changes were made to the by-laws to update
them. The updates of the by-laws were passed out during the meeting and a vote
of the general membership was taken. All voted in favor to pass the changes
made to the by-laws.

Wendi Hall presented the recommendation to
change to the organization of Parents Club from a 501(c)3 to becoming a
volunteer organization within the umbrella of SJNMA. The by-laws will reflect
this change in status. A general vote
was taken and all voted in favor of modifying the PC modification.
D. Academy President’s Update: Dr. Jack H. Albert, Jr.

Board of Trustees for SJNMA met on Friday,
October 11th. The Board meets
4 times a year including Fall, early Winter, Spring and in July for a Strategic
Meeting. Working on a new Capital Campaign. Recently 60 constituents were
interviewed. Currently working on refining the case statement for the campaign.
The last Capital Campaign raised $25 million over a 5-year period. This Capital
Campaign will match that $25 million once again over a 5-year period. The money
raised from the campaign will allow the Academy to pay back debt on renovations
done to the barracks, support cadet scholarships, and increase the endowment. A
lead gift of $2 million has been received for the Fine Arts Center. The
campaign will also support the enhancement of the Math and Engineering
programs.

3 Plus 1 Program- This program is 3 full school
years plus one summer and the cadet would be eligible to for graduation. Please
contact the Academic Office for more details. The required credits for
graduation are 24 starting with the 2013-2014 academic year.
E. Meeting Adjournment: Meeting was adjourned at 2:20 pm.
