Count down to Families Weekend Begins

Just five more days and the big weekend starts! For many of you I know this will be your first families weekend and the first time you will see your cadet since they arrived at St John's back in August.  The cadets are just as excited.  Over the next few days I will touch on several of the events of the weekend so you know what to expect.  In the meantime, I wanted to highlight two specific events that I strongly encourage all to attend:

Saturday Morning 9 am in dining hall - College Preparation Presentation.   Looking back,as this is our senior year, I feel we didn't start early enough having the college discussions, beginning the research, college visits, understanding tests, application process etc.  I strongly encourage all families to join Mr. Hillmann and David Carl as they offer excellent  advice and insight into the college enrollment process!   I learned a great deal last year that I wish I had known sooner but most importantly how fantastic the support is at SJNMA to help us through this often overwhelming process.  All grades cadets and families alike are invited.

Sunday in Farrand Gymnasium - starting at 10:30 immediately following Brunch in the mess hall, the demonstrations by the various groups, national honor society induction finished up with the senior ring and sword /saber ceremony.   The presentations are always exceptional.  We have very talented cadets among our corp and they are proud to perform for us.  Finally, if you or your cadet have any questions about spending senior year at SJNMA the ring/saber & sword ceremony will certainly convince you.   The entire corp will be there to congratulate the senior class in this time honored ceremony.

Please know that there is no "limit" to who can visit and join us for the weekend!  Every event is open to all.  Bring all the aunts, uncles, grandparents brothers and sisters, friends.   Especially on Sunday to our grand finale parade! Come see all the promotions and awards during the parade.

If you have any questions about any of the events listed on the schedule please email parentsclub@sjnma.org and we will get them answered right away!

Also,  If you haven't signed up for the golf outing and would like to play there are still a few spots open!   We have every hole sponsored - thank you for your support.

Look forward to seeing all of you next weekend!  Deborah
